Abroad outfits

I’ve been studying abroad in Florence since August, and when I came to Europe, I knew I had to dress the part. From summer to winter, I had to pack light, bringing only my staples. As the semester is coming to a close, here is a roundup of my outfits with my limited, abroad closet. Ignore the crappy photos— I’m not sure why every single one I took had to be so blurry!

Here, I am wearing a basic Brandy Melville tank & my go-to Reformation low-rise trousers. I added a Mango scarf to elevate the look. **Pro-tip: Mango always has the cutest silk scarf collection

Our first big group trip was to Ibiza & I was so stuck on what to wear because 1) I have no “rave” clothes, and 2) I had stuffed all my beach clothes into my favorite pair of Reformation tall, black boots, all of which were stolen out of my bag on the way to Europe(so weird??). My outfits were super makeshift, but, night one(the left pic), I ended up wearing a new sparkly Zara top and these perfect linen micro shorts from White Fox(a good dupe for the always sold out Reformation June shorts). On the right, again, I am wearing my trusty Brandy Melville tank paired with the Geel Aria mini skirt(WAY better than the Guizio). I also have on a Missoni scarf, which goes on sale at the end of the Summer season, and a cool necklace I got from the Santa Croce market in Florence.

In Lisbon, my new favorite city in the world, I wore a plain, white top from Gap(of all places), this perfect mini skort from Lioness, and a belt from a flea(most likely)

Finally, this dinner fit consists of those same Subdued jeans, Zara heels(that I bought to keep my toes warm), a Staud purse, and a black blazer that I got for 5 euros at Humana Vintage, tied together with a belt from Princess Polly. My sweater is also from Zuiki, a store in Florence, where I’ve gotten most of my sweaters. If you are ever in Florence & are in need of soft sweaters or cute jackets, this is a go-to! On my abroad budget, I needed a lot of winter clothes, so when I stumbled into this random store that looked slightly like a Claire’s, I was pleasantly surprised.

In Marbella, Ally and I twinned in our Bella Venice mini dress and maxi skirt. Not pictured are my perfectly matching Prada slingback pumps.

These are now my favorite pants ever. I got these beige cigarette pants in Le Marais, Paris, at a vintage shop. Le Marais had the best vintage stores I’ve ever been in, though most items were out of my price range, so I walked away with only these pants, one of my new favorite pieces. On the left, I paired my pants with a plain white Garage tank, a linen cropped blazer from Theory, and my trusty vintage Coach bag(the color match with the pants is insane). On the right was my Thanksgiving dinner outfit, where I styled my pants with a black sweater from a random cashmere store in Paris (only 30 euros!!) and a black trench from Zuiki in Florence (you’ll hear me talk about this store A LOT).

These two VERY similar outfits and pictures feature my go-to Edikted jeans(sorry, they are so comfortable and are the only jeans that aren’t too long on me!). On the left, AGAIN, is my Brandy black tank(I told you staples were needed abroad) and a sheer shrug that my friend thrifted in Vienna. On the right is a top that I thrifted in Amsterdam from a store called Episode. If you are ever in Amsterdam, go there!! They have the best pieces for so cheap.

Let me put you on to Subdued jeans. I got these at the beginning of the semester because I only brought a couple of pairs and, at first, I thought they fit weirdly. BUT I was so wrong. Yes, the crotch area is smaller than most jeans, but it makes my legs look twice as long. As someone with short legs, they are a godsend. Just had to say that, but I’m wearing them with a mockneck sweater from Mango & my fav sneakers from the Sporty & Rich x Samba collection— the perfect class fit.
